In cooperation with the German-Czech festival "So macht man Frühling", the Germanists Veronika Jičínská and Renata Cornejo and the author Jakob Nolte are guests in the series "Ein Stück Gegenwart. Salon on new drama". Jičínská and Cornejo are co-editors of the "Anthology of contemporary German-language theater", which was compiled at the University of Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic, in cooperation with the Technical University of Dresden and the Drama Studio in Ústí: Over two semesters, they worked with students to compile a selection of contemporary German-language dramas and translated them into Czech - the bilingual anthology was shortlisted as one of the most beautiful books in the Czech Republic in 2020. Together with Jakob Nolte, one of nine playwrights whose plays were included in the anthology, they talk about this cross-border work, the peculiarities of translation and the link between academia and the public.

Jakob Nolte is a multi-award-winning playwright and prose writer; his novel "Schreckliche Gewalten" was nominated for the German Book Prize in 2017. His play "Gespräch wegen der Kürbisse", which will be read from on the evening with members of the Theater Bremen ensemble, was invited to the Berlin Autor:innentheatertage and is a dialog between two friends that spirals into the absurd: What begins with an innocent travelogue ultimately leads to the dissolution of facts and memory.

In the series "Ein Stück Gegenwart. Salon zu neuer Dramtatik" series, authors read from their plays with members of the acting ensemble, discuss topics that concern them and talk about what they are currently working on.
