Einseinseins, a trio from Berlin, fuses Krautrock, post-punk, wave and 80s pop into something unusually new and yet familiar. Their music transcends boundaries and cannot be easily assigned to a genre.
The self-released debut album is more reminiscent of bands like Can or Hawkwind, but played by punks who like video games. Among connoisseurs, the debut was highly sought after and their energetic live shows were much appreciated. An invitation to the renowned Krach am Bach festival soon followed, where Einseinseins established themselves as a unique force among like-minded people. It was there that Tonzonen Records became aware of them and immediately signed Einseinseins.
Their second album Zwei followed soon after. It combines their love of Kraftwerk, post-punk and 80s pop music. The album awakens an obsessive desire for the one, the two. They are never above using big melodies that are energetically thrown into the world.
The album moves outside the concept of genres. A concept that is deliberately misunderstood by Einseinseins. No two pieces are alike and yet everything is one. "Graf Zahl" introduces the journey. A feeling of departure arises. "Plastik Liebe" brings "Das Model" into the 21st century. "Gasetagenheizung" and "Regit Etarak" are challenging. Passive listening becomes impossible. "Nachtigall" and "Nur Fuchs" release the tension and catch the listener like sirens. Zwei is highly praised and loved by his listeners. Einseinseins' energetic live show was filmed during their performance as part of Berta Berlin's Living in a Box concert series in 2020 and recorded exclusively for the
Tonzonen-Festival 2022 on vinyl.
