In the organizer's words:

Until October 5, it's once again "Free admission - to Erlangen's city history". During the renovation phase between two special exhibitions, the city museum invites you to visit the permanent exhibition. In five sections, it presents Erlangen's history from the traces of the first people in the region to the 20th century.

The focus is on the baroque city with its Huguenot crafts and manufactories, residence and university. Other topics include the upheavals of the industrial age and urban society since the German Empire in the context of German history. The tour ends with the development of Siemensstadt after the Second World War.

Children are given free search games at the ticket desk about prehistory and early history in the Erlangen area, Erlangen's old town or Erlangen's new town, which they can use to embark on exciting discovery tours through the city museum.
