Director Balderkamp has asked teacher Astrid for an interview. It's a supposedly harmless appointment. Or is it? Klara has her doubts. Klara has been with Astrid for years. She was Astrid's student. They met at the school where Astrid still teaches today. Balderkamp is her line manager and now wants to discuss something professional at an informal meeting. He visits the two women in their shared apartment and brings a bottle of wine. And so it happens very quickly that professional and private matters become ominously intertwined. Suddenly, the three adults find themselves on very thin ice.

Marius von Mayenburg, who has long been one of the defining playwrights of his generation, has written a thoroughly comedic play about the dynamics of power and its abuse in "Ellen Babić". A psychological thriller about the emotional debts that we accumulate and cannot shake off, which accompany us through time like ghosts.
