"Once upon a time or not ..." - This is how Afghan fairy tales begin. The one about a free, democratic and independent country is over for now. It has been three years since Afghanistan was abandoned overnight by its allies. The people have suffered as a result. Women's rights activists Homa Abass and Christina Ihle have just been to Afghanistan and report on the work of their Afghan Women's Association on the ground. Writer Mariam Meetra recently published her first book in Germany: I have seen the wrath of the wind. She will read from it and talk about painful experiences and hope. Barbara Auer will frame the evening with readings from the works of Roger Willemsen, who had such an intimate connection to Afghanistan and its people. Let us not lose sight of the people there. An evening for Afghanistan!
