Eunbi Oh. Schaum im Nebel MUR BRUT 32

Location: In the parking garage of the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf

In her artistic work, Eunbi Oh deals with the relationship between inequality and disorder as well as their significance and impact in contemporary social discourses. As part of MUR BRUT, she is showing the installation Schaum im Nebel (Foam in the Fog), which addresses the omnipresent flood of information that prevails today and, as a result, society's dependence on digital media: Viral videos, global news, advertising and memes can be accessed at any time and have an unfiltered effect on us. The artist makes the space that these occupy in our mobile devices visible.

The resulting spatial situation initially appears familiar, but only at second glance do inconsistencies become apparent. Eunbi Oh metaphorically juxtaposes order and chaos and uses foam in the mist to question our relationship to reality and truth.

Eunbi Oh graduated from the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 2023 under Prof. Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster.
