The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is one of the largest in Japan. This exciting documentary takes a look behind the scenes and back at the history of the spectacular fireworks display. It is moving with breathtaking images and uses interviews with the pyrotechnicians and other participants to show what the fireworks mean to the people of Nagaoka. For the population, who have already suffered many blows of fate such as air raids at the end of the Second World War and the Chuetsu earthquake in 2004, it is also a symbol of peace and reconstruction.
