In the organizer's words:

By the light of torches, you will walk through the old ironworks in the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park and find out how things were done back then.

The tour places a special focus on industrial history. Where workers filled the boiling blast furnace high up in the cutting wind or broke open the tapping hole below, protected only by a hat and gloves, there was hellish noise, poisonous gases and sticky dust that ate into the lungs. This tour will also remind you of this.

Explore the casting hall, bunker pockets & co. and look forward to a fiery evening.

Torches are provided on loan for the duration of the tour.

The tour is not barrier-free.

Flashlight: If possible, please bring an additional flashlight for the tour.

Children: As with all open tours - except the children's tour - the torchlight tour is also designed for adults and is therefore not suitable for children under the age of 12, or only suitable to a limited extent.

On the torchlight tour, children aged 12 and over will only receive a torch if they are accompanied by at least one adult per child.
