FALLENDE BLÄTTER tells the story of two lonely people (Alma Pöysti and Jussi Vatanen) who meet by chance in Helsinki at night. Both are in search of the first, only and final love of their lives. The path to this honorable goal is complicated by the man's alcohol addiction, lost phone numbers, not knowing each other's names and addresses - and not least by life's general tendency to put obstacles in the way of those who seek happiness.
This gentle tragicomedy can be seen as the "fourth part" of Aki Kaurismäki's worker trilogy (Shadows in Paradise, Ariel and The Girl from the Match Factory).
