feature feature: Nujakasha meets Hanna Sikasa

In the organizer's words:

Nujakasha. One name // One sound.

The four-piece band creates spherical clouds of sound and driving beats. Purely instrumental. Drums, bass, guitar, piano, synthesizer and violin merge to create a sound influenced by hip-hop, jazz and soul. Rhythmic overlays are replaced by danceable grooves and rapid musical runs merge into lyrical melodies.

They have shared their musical expertise with the DJ rap duo "Ferge X Fisherman" for years. Three German tours and three albums have already been produced in this collaboration. The four exceptional artists are now embarking on their own journey under the name of "Nujakasha" and with their debut EP "At the Nujakasha", to play the world with their unique sound.

Hanna Sikasa

Hanna Sikasa sounds like soul pop, with roots in jazz and bridges to R'nB. Her English-language songs are sometimes poetic miniatures with scope for personal interpretation, sometimes pleas for the freedom to unfold as an Afro-German woman in this world or tell of survival in the music business as an artist with children.

On the current album SEQUEL (2023 / GLM Music), the Augsburg Leopold Mozart String Quartet can be heard alongside the band.

When HANNA SIKASA is not on stage with her music, she devotes herself to her other passion - working with choirs.
