As part of the vernissage, author Katrin Seyfert will read from her book "Lückenleben" (Spiegel-Verlag).

The doctor Marc Seyfert was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2017, in the middle of his life. Since then, his words have become paler, more amorphous and lacking contours from day to day. At some point, his words would disappear. But not his feelings. Since then, he has collected hundreds of wooden sticks on long walks: thick, gnarled, delicate, jammed and full of character. He has worked on each stick individually, just as nature would have allowed him to: discreetly and always helping, never interfering.

Marianne Moosherr is a portrait photographer, neighbor and gold-seeker. She experienced the slowly progressing changes of her friend, immersed herself in his world and tried to make them visible.

From Marc's collection of canes, she selected "the 25 most beautiful canes in the world" and captured them photographically, captured by Marc Seyfert. Holding on against time.
