Festival STILLE WELT

In the organizer's words:

The MaximiliansForum and the Köşk in Munich are hosting an all-day festival for deaf and hearing people of all ages to accompany the comic exhibition "ZOE JUX - Stille, die zeichnet.". In addition to a tour of the exhibition, the program includes comic workshops, performances and art talks.

The artists ZOE JUX from Hamburg and Berrin Jost, Dominik Wendland and Amelie Lihl from the Munich comic and art scene will be taking part, as well as representatives from the deaf culture such as the deaf performers Hristo Trajkovski, Walter Chiofalo and the museum signer Sabrina Göb. The event will be moderated by Martina Odorfer from Gehörlosenverband München und Umland e.V.(GMU e.V.).

PROGRAMME

Location: MaximiliansForum (pedestrian underpass Maximilianstraße / Altstadtring)

10 am to 12 noon: open exhibition "ZOE JUX - Stille, die zeichnet" 11 am to 12 noon: tour of the exhibition with the artist ZOE Jux and Martina Odorfer

Location: Köşk (Schillerstrasse 38)

from 1 pm: Arrival with snacks and drinks

2 to 4.30 pm: Workshops

"Your line - how do I find my own drawing style" with ZOE JUX & Sabrina Göb,

"Funnies and manga - draw your characters and figures" with Berrin Jost, "Zines" with Amelie Lihl

5 to 6 p.m.: Artist talk and film screening with ZOE JUX, hosted by Martina Odorfer; comic readings by Dominik Wendland "Immer Alles Anders" and Berrin Jost "Somnium"

from 6.30 pm: Visual Vernacular "Museum of Memory" by Hristo Trajkovski and Deaf performance by Walter Chiofalo.

The "Silent World" festival is part of the supporting program for the exhibition "ZOE JUX - Silence that draws" in the MaximiliansForum municipal art space. In the exhibition, the deaf Hamburg artist ZOE JUX takes us on a humorous, ironic and at the same time profound journey into the everyday lives of deaf people. Through her comics and animated films, she depicts the challenges, but also the special moments of a life in silence.

The "Stille Welt" festival is organized by the municipal art space MaximiliansForum and Färberei/Köşk, in cooperation with the Munich Association for the Deaf and the surrounding area (gmu.de) and the educational and cultural platform padkig(padkig.de).
