Special screening of the documentary DAS LAND DER VERLORENEN KINDER followed by a discussion about the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela and the consequences for the inhabitants and refugees from the country. Guests are Vania Amigo and Marie Lehmann from the Psychosocial Center for Refugees Leipzig.

Venezuela is sinking into chaos. Democracy has been abolished. Health care has collapsed. Hunger has the people firmly in its grip. Children are dying in the barrios.

Two single mothers and their children are at the center of the film. Carolina fights hunger and organizes a neighbourhood charity. To protect her daughter Victoria, she sends her to a children's home run by nuns. An oasis in the midst of violence and deprivation.
Kiara and her children try to get by by any means necessary. Violence, prostitution, begging and hunger are the order of the day. Her son Yorbenis (14) is already a criminal with his own gun. The slight boy is part of the Tribu gang and is on the verge of becoming a murderer himself. Then Kiara, like many others before her, decides to leave the country for Colombia. She takes her young children with her. Only Yorbenis no longer has enough money for a ticket. Kiara is afraid that he will be murdered in her absence. The hostile gang is hunting him down, as are the police. Around seven million people have migrated out of the country in recent years, and almost one million children have been left behind by the refugees.
