Come to FILMFEST HAMBURG and hike through the Catskill Mountains

A hike becomes a teenage girl's inner journey in this dazzling debut inspired by the work of Kelly Reichardt with its poetry and subtle humor. 17-year-old Sam sets off with her father Chris and his oldest friend Matt on their annual camping trip to the Catskill Mountains. Matt's son was supposed to come along too, but he refuses. The teenager soon realizes that she is just an extra in the ego show of the two middle-aged men on the three-day trip. She generously lets her friends take the stage and patiently watches them tease each other. But her tension grows with each passing day.

INDIA DONALDSON (*1984 in the USA) works as a director and screenwriterand lives in Los Angeles. Following her short films Medusa (2017), Hannahs (2019) and If Found (2020), Good One is her first feature-length film. It premiered in Cannes in the Quinzaine des Cinéastes series.

FILMFEST HAMBURG takes place from September 26 to October 5, 2024. Over 120 productions from all over the world will be shown as world, European, German or Hamburg premieres.
