Come to FILMFEST HAMBURG and join Kaloyan on his journey

A return to his homeland and his own story: Bulgarian rapper FYRE plays the leading role in this haunting character drama. After many years in Spain, Kaloyan returns to his native Bulgaria to handle the sale of his deceased father's apartment. At first, the whole thing seems like a routine bureaucratic task, but the journey soon turns into a personal confrontation with himself. The otherwise hardened Kaloyan is suddenly confronted with traumas and faded memories from his childhood.

PAVEL G. VESNAKOV (*1987 in Bulgaria) is a graduate of the New Bulgarian University. His feature film debut Lektionen auf Deutsch celebrated its German premiere at FILMFEST HAMBURG in 2021 and received the Special Jury Prize and the FIPRESCI Award at the Sofia International Film Festival, among others.

FILMFEST HAMBURG will take place from September 26 to October 5, 2024. Over 120 productions from all over the world will be shown as world, European, German or Hamburg premieres.
