Never before has the darkest chapter of Cambodia's history and Pol Pot's career been told through his connection to dance. In fact, the cruel leader of the Khmer Rouge was educated by the star dancer Chea Samy in the royal palace and even owes her a degree in Paris. Decades later, as a forced laborer, Chea Samy recognizes Pol Pot as her foster son. She survives his regime and saves Cambodian dance from extinction.
