The Western film avant-garde of the 1940s to 1960s was strongly characterized by queer protagonists who brought their aesthetics and perspectives to underground film culture. Kenneth Anger's FIREWORKS expresses sado-masochistic, homoerotic fantasies that seem to take place in the realm between dream and reality. UN CHANT D'AMOUR, the only directorial work by writer Jean Genet, tells an erotic love story between two prison inmates. THE FLAMING CREATURES is a camp play with border crossings by underground filmmaker Jack Smith, inspired by the trans and drag scene in New York. The films will be screened with musical accompaniment by GLISTEN COLLECTIVE.

S.U.V./Sex Und Violence ran the underground tape label Otomatik Muziek (Laure Boer, Joachim Nordwall, among others) for many years and, in various formations, explores the possibilities in the space between improvised and experimental, queer and traditional music.

Awkward Mud is an artist, DJ and collectively organized in the Nuremberg subculture scene. Always accompanied by its own monstrous queerness, Awkward Mud makes itself audible in noisy, comfortingly sticky sounds.

Alexandru Șalariu (N'dru) is an artist living in Nuremberg (all pronouns). Sound oscillates between performance and installation, sculpture and vibration, queerness and migration, politics and mourning.
