FLOWERS FORERVER. BLUMEN IN KUNST UND KULTUR

Hundreds of thousands of dried flowers are currently hanging from the ceiling of the Bucerius Kunst Forum. Now you can immerse yourself in this rain of color, scent and crackle. Calyx, the exciting work by Rebecca Louise Law, is just one of around 115 works that will make our exhibition space bloom during Flowers Forever. Flowers in Art and Culture.

The show demonstrates the important role of the flower in culture, mythology, religion, politics, economics and ecology and thus the omnipresence of the flower as a symbol and natural phenomenon. Until January 19, 2025, you can be guided through the art and cultural history of the flower from antiquity to the present day. The tour brings together paintings, sculptures, photographs, media art and objects from the fields of design and science. The important role of the flower in culture, mythology, religion, politics, economics and ecology is discussed and the ubiquity of the flower as a symbol and natural phenomenon is demonstrated.
