WHISPERING

A group exhibition with works by Theresa Hecker, Tom Messavilla, Jiwon Song and Stefanie Winter, curated by Tinatin Ghughunishvili-Brück

Some artistic works are quiet and delicate, and this is precisely where their haunting power lies. The relevance and impact of a work of art reveal themselves beyond the framework of conventional criteria. Moreover, by its very existence, art inspires us to reflect on the mystery of our existence. Especially in challenging times. In the midst of crises, wars and propaganda, art retains its right to be subtle, ambivalent and personal. While the world outside demands loudness and decisiveness, art is allowed to whisper. This whispering is a sign of determination, it shows that the creation of art in itself can be a significant and powerful position. This exhibition is dedicated to the artistic positions that spring from the deepest human expression, beyond short-lived visual trends and political agendas, interwoven with the creative urge and individual approaches to image making. This exhibition is dedicated to all the soft and quiet voices that resemble birdsong at dawn - you can only ignore them when you are asleep.
