Cupid versus Goliath takes us into the heart of the climate movement, to the heights of German linguistic artistry and into the hell of an anxiety disorder: it's about a psychologist fighting for the climate; her beloved but burnt-out partner, formerly a successful musician, who is struggling with a severe anxiety disorder and growing jealousy; and a flamboyant journalist fighting for a major investigative story. When the three meet by chance on Crete - and the psychologist and journalist quickly become menacingly close - there are soon other catastrophes on the horizon besides climate change.

In Cupid versus Goliath, Frank Schulz shows a society caught between activism and a state of fear - and why we can only get out of it if we stick together.

Frank Schulz has received numerous awards for his novels, including the Hubert Fichte Prize (2004) and the Kassel Literature Prize for Grotesque Humor (2015).

Frank Schäfer wrote his doctorate on Lichtenberg and lives as an author, music and literary critic in Braunschweig.
