Franzmann Stickerfest Vol.2

Following the great success of the first Düsseldorf sticker festival, the "Franzmann Stickerfest", the youth facility on Ratinger Straße 20 in Düsseldorf is presenting the second edition of the festival on 30.08.2024 and will be presenting a wide variety of sticker and paste-up artists from all over the world in this unusual exhibition.

Sticker art festivals are exhibition concepts that enjoy great popularity in urban metropolitan areas around the world. Examples include the Bucharest Street Art Fest, the Madrid Sticker Fest and the Sweden Sticker Museum, which celebrate the fascination of urban stickers and their artists.

The team at the Franzmann youth culture café therefore launched the Franzmann Stickerfest in 2023 at the request of its visitors. The feedback and submissions were enormous. Over 1,500 visitors came from all over NRW to experience and celebrate the diversity and variety of the sticker and street art scene at the Franzmann youth culture café.

It was therefore no question for the Jugendkulturcafé to organize a second edition of the festival and in May 2024 it once again called on sticker and street artists to send stickers and art-related items to the youth facility at Ratinger Straße 20 in Düsseldorf. The results of this call will be presented in an unusual exhibition at the Franzmann youth culture café on 30.08.2024. Stickers by renowned street artists Space Invader, Monsieur Chat and Hooker One will be on display alongside stickers by local artists such as Markant, Bartotainment and Lemon Rope. Düsseldorf in particular has a very lively sticker art scene (the density of local sticker artists in Düsseldorf is enormous).

With the Franzmann Stickerfest 2023, the Stickertuesday was also launched, where young, adolescent sticker enthusiasts have been able to design and create handmade stickers with Düsseldorf sticker artists every Tuesday for a year. It was there that the wish arose to be able to see their own work in public. This wish was conveyed to the city of Düsseldorf, which provided free space in the old town for the second edition of the festival. After the first episode of the "Franzmann Stickerfest", this year the field of action will be expanded and a huge Wall of Love will be pasted and glued near the Rhine.

In addition to stickers, paste-ups and all kinds of street art, the opening of the festival on 30.08. 2024 will feature the finest Düsseldorf hip-hop live on the Franzmann stage from 8 pm:

Stickers and paste-ups can also be exchanged on site at the opening or discovered in the large sticker boxes on site and taken home.

The sticker festival can be seen until 27.09. during regular opening hours (Monday from 15-18, Tuesday to Friday from 15-21).
