free:pop on Tour 2024

With free:pop on Tour, we are counteracting the existing imbalance: Together with our cooperation partners musicNRWwomen*, Cologne Music Week, NRW Music Conference, the New Fall Festival and the Weihnachtsdorf am Büchel (Aachen), we are once again giving FLINTA*s a stage in 2024. With free concerts, panels and workshops, we will be exploring the topics of multiple discrimination, external ascriptions and empowerment.

Workshop with MRJN: Audio Engineering Basics for FLINTA*: Your introduction to audio engineering

In this workshop, you as a FLINTA* person will learn the necessary know-how to record your music yourself as a singer-songwriter. Together with MRJN, you will explore the basics of sound engineering, understand what equipment such as the interface is there for, and practice the practical setup and the first recording and yes, everyone is allowed to try it out for themselves. If there's enough time, MRJN will dive into acoustic and recording techniques with you to refine your sound.

We defend ourselves - Queerfeminist empowerment in music production and technology

(Cooperation with the PopBoard NRW)

This panel is aimed at FLINTA+ who want to defend themselves against patriarchal power imbalances. The aim is to empower FLINTA+ in a discussion and provide them with tools to reshape male-dominated areas. The focus is on music production and music technology: How do I tackle sexism? Against mansplaining? How do I make myself heard?
