Freispruch is an empowerment project by FLINTA* people who are trying to come to terms with what it means to grow up in an assault-affirming, even rape-culture.
In the summer of 2023, a joint process of storytelling, de-romanticizing and distorting began. A process to find a new language in which people can talk about sexual and sexualized violence, very concretely and personally: as a social abuse of power, as a male thing, as a female thing, as a non-binary person thing, as a personal thing, as a structure of a system. A process to create our own words for what happens to and around us. We have tried to open up spaces for discourse that have never existed before (for us), in which a conversation can arise, far removed from discussing a victim role. A self-empowered conversation. Together, we create an environment that denies any form of victim-blaming, that creates community and speaks of the supra-individual pillars of sexual violence through polyphony.
Now it's fall, 2024, and we're opening the space again. This time in Unterhaching and Berlin. Using artistic means, we fight our way free, between describing and rewriting, naming and reinventing. We find each other, we are in our healing era, we are a we that supports each other. The project counteracts the mechanisms of isolation that affect those affected and that are used by a society that protects perpetrators. We invite you to join our "we". The world belongs to the brave. We are taking it back.
