Friedrich Kiel oder der„Wittgensteiner Brahms“ Romantische Kammermusik mit Buchvorstellung

In the organizer's words:

Friedrich Kiel (1821 - 1885) was an important composer of the 19th century between academicism and romanticism. He has been apostrophized as a 'Wittgenstein Brahms', but also as a 'modern Bach'. His musical oeuvre focuses primarily on chamber, piano and church music. He also composed a small selection of orchestral works, songs and solo concertos.

His first grave was in the Alter Zwölf-Apostel-Kirchhof in Berlin-Schöneberg, before he was moved to the cemetery of his birthplace Puderbach in 1971. The wall grave still exists and is a sponsored grave of the Friedrich Kiel Society.

Program: Friedrich Kiel: Small Suite for Violin and Pianoforte op. 77 (1881)

Two Nocturnos op. op. (1875)

Johannes Brahms: Violin Sonata No. 2 in A major op. 100 (Thun Sonata, 1886)

At the event, Anja Ganschow will present the anniversary volume celebrating the 200th birthday of Friedrich Kiel.

In cooperation with the Friedrich Kiel Society
