Coal and steel have left their mark on the Ruhr region and thus also on everyday life involving washing, preserving, growing vegetables and breeding pigeons. The permanent exhibition at the German Mining Museum Bochum offers numerous exhibits with links to experiences from the past. People with dementia and their relatives can experience a sensory tour through everyday life from earlier times.
