Funky Marching Band (Jazzfestival Freiburg 2024)

In the organizer's words:

Good traditions should be kept alive and so the start of the jazz festival is celebrated with a musical tour through the city center.

Home game for the Funky Marching Band! They march through Freiburg's streets in a funky groove. They have everything that makes jazz mobile: sousaphone, trombone, trumpet, saxophone, guitar, vocals, snare, bass drum and lots of fun. The audience can join in the "second line" and be there when the Funky Marching Band stops at beautiful places where the paths become dance floors for all dance enthusiasts.

The Funky Marching Band (conductor: Jörgen Welander) accompanies people in all walks of life, and the repertoire is correspondingly diverse. A home game where there are only winners.
