Forever
D 2023, Pia Lenz, 87 min
Eva and Dieter have been a couple for over 60 years. They have lived through the good and the bad times together. Now, in old age, the threat of parting looms as Eva's health increasingly deteriorates. In her long-term observation, director Pia Lenz documents the couple's everyday life. It is the tender moments of affection that tell of many years of closeness. Using family photos and Eva's diary entries (read by Nina Hoss), she reconstructs the couple's story. How much openness and honesty does a relationship need? How can strokes of fate be overcome and how can they get back together? A wonderful portrait about the dream of "forever" and love in old age.
