future raw – Digital Strategies for Material Storytelling

An exhibition by Stellschrauben e.V. at Kunstraum IDEAL (Schulze-Delitzsch-Straße 27, Leipzig)

Opening times: 7 and 14.12., 2 to 6 pm and by appointment

In the age of the energy and resource transition, the question arises: How raw can raw materials still be in the future? And how does the use of secondary raw materials change material culture as well as design and production processes? In the future raw exhibition, by-products, residual materials and waste are given a stage where they can be explored in terms of their visual, haptic-tactile and functional qualities at the interface between the physical and the digital. Otherwise invisible processes become visible. Material samples, artifacts and prototypical tools show ways of dealing with residual materials in a sustainable way. Recyclates are given a stage through an experimental approach with videos, animations and renderings.
