Intensive course: Casting with plaster molds

Something GAAAAAANY DIFFERENT - smooth, light, delicate. Slip casting is a technique that is not so widely used - in my opinion, quite wrongly! This is because this technique enables thinner and lighter workpieces in particular. It is a completely different material to turned or built-up clay. We pour liquid clay into plaster molds. These remove the water from the clay. After a few minutes, we can pour off the excess casting clay and a so-called hollow mold remains. The process of turning a liquid mass into a bowl during the course is a real hit. We pour cups and bowls, which you then glaze yourself. You do everything yourself - from the liquid clay to the finished bowl. You can let off steam creatively and take home something you made with your own hands at the end. Once your work has dried and been fired for the first time (biscuit firing), it will be glazed. We do this in the glazing course. Afterwards, your works can be used like "normal" tableware (dishwasher-safe, shockproof and waterproof).
