The hyperpop sensation from the USA is coming to Germany for three shows in spring 2025

At the age of 19,glaive is already one of the most exciting artists on the US hyperpop scene, mixing elements of trap, emo-rap, pop-punk and indie rock with a DIY attitude and bedroom pop aesthetic. Described by Billboard as a "cutting-edge pop artist", glaive has long since built up a worldwide following, making songs such as "astrid" (50 million Spotify streams), "fuck this town" (46 million streams) and "i wanna slam my head against the wall" (29 million streams) his biggest hits to date. After a feature on Whethan's track "Think You Right" (2021), glaive then featured on Machine Gun Kelly's "More Than Life" in 2022 and also expanded his fanbase in the modern pop-punk scene. With 5 released EPs and the albums "i care so much that i don't care at all" and the recently released "May It Never Falter", glaive proves an enormous musical versatility that inspires globally. In spring 2025, the musician will also be coming to Cologne, Munich and Berlin for one concert each on his tour.

Born in Florida in 2005, Ash Blue Gutierrez 's family moved to North Carolina a few years later, where the musician initially played in a band before concentrating on a solo career under the stage name glaive. At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the artist posted his first songs on SoundCloud, where he quickly attracted attention and subsequently signed a contract with Interscope Records, through which he released his debut EP "cypress grove". This contains "astrid", his most streamed song to date. Following the successful single "cloak n dagger" feat. ericdoa, the EP "i wanna slam my head against the wall" was released in March 2021. The biggest success of the year was the single "fuck this town" feat. ericdoa, released in July 2021, which was followed by the EP "all dogs go to heaven", which features pop-punk influences on "1985". "then i'll be happy" (2021) also demonstrated glaive's genre glitch of pop-punk, hyperpop and trap with "heather" and even revealed funk influences on "pretending". After further singles and the EP "old dog, new tricks", "i care so much that i don't care at all" was released in July 2023 as glaive's debut album, an indie-infused pop soundtrack described by Pitchfork as a "step away from hyperpop and digicore" while "sharpening his pop instincts and exposing the chaotic intensity of teenage emotions".

In February 2024, the EP "a bit of a mad one" was released, after which glaive terminated his record deal with Interscope in June 2024 to release as an independent artist again. Everything Is Noise describes the EP as a further step towards the bedroom pop side of his music, which is also confirmed on the second album "May It Never Falter". With its usual versatility, the album largely dispenses with chaotically charged hyperpop with one exception ("EVERYDOG HAS ITS DAY") and reveals a calm singer-songwriter ballad with "joel", while "Live & Direct" feat. Kurtains takes influences from classic rock and mixes them with trap elements.
