GLANZ AUF DEM VULKAN takes you back to the Berlin of the roaring 20s, the city of sin, the most exciting metropolis in the world at all times. This is the real life between euphoria, abyss and madness. Berlin is a colorful melting pot full of artists and bon vivants. Opium intoxication, absinthe parties, Dadaism, anarchism, shattered shoes, nights of love ... Berlin! GLANZ AUF DEM VULKAN is a highly energetic, eccentric and innovative stage work of art with music, dance, singing, artistry, humor and frivolities of all kinds that unites today and yesterday in the here and now. With their furious band THE GLANZ and their dazzling international ensemble of artists, the creators of this show Evi Niessner & Mr. Leu - also known as EVI & DAS TIER - take you on a fast-paced and incredibly entertaining journey into the fascinating World of Weimar.

The ensemble of GLANZ AUF DEM VULKAN can be described as an absolute top cast. At every moment, you can feel how deeply connected the artistic director of this show, Evi Niessner, is to the Berlin of the 1920s.

Evi Niessner is regarded as an undisputed expert on the 1920s. Her collection of sheet music, magazines, texts and shellac records from this period contains real treasures. Her repertoire of Weimar art is almost inexhaustible. With her BERLINER LUFT ENSEMBLE, she made the Golden Twenties popular again for the first time in the 1990s. Since then, Evi Niessner has been pursuing the vision of a magnificent 20s show for the big, glamorous stages, concert halls, galas and festivals of the new millennium.

The stage ensemble has grown together over many years and creates a densely woven artistic stage world in GLANZ AUF DEM VULKAN, which is visually brought to life by the video installations of the renowned Hamburg video artist Domenico Toma. The costume design is created by Evi Niessner with great attention to detail and style, from the initial idea to the crowning sequin. The impressive lighting design by Florian Ewert intensifies the atmosphere of the stage action and skillfully highlights the dramatic highlights.
