Immediately after October 7, the author Sasha Marianna Salzmann ("Im Menschen muss alles herrlich sein" et al.) and the author and musician Ofer Waldman (who came to Berlin in 1999 as a member of the "West-Eastern Divan Orchestra" founded by Daniel Barenboim and Edward Said) begin a correspondence about a shaken world. What is left of old certainties? What endures in the maelstrom of opinions and positions? The result is a dialog that increasingly becomes a touching document of a friendship: I see you, say these letters, I can do nothing, but I am there. A poetic and personal document of our time (Suhrkamp).
