Light - Art - Projects Gelsenkirchen

"Goldstücke. Light - Art - Projects Gelsenkirchen" is a multi-day light art event in the city center of Buer. Works of light art will be shown at selected locations between Hagenstraße and Goldbergpark as well as between the Gelsenkirchen Art Museum and Domplatte in the urban space. Walking acts will round off the program with light shows. Free admission.

Goldstücke Gelsenkirchen

Since 2019, the Goldstücke have regularly brought national and international light art to vacant buildings and public spaces in Buer. The anchor points are always the Gelsenkirchen Art Museum, the Sparkasse Gelsenkirchen building and the adjacent Robinienhof and Goldbergpark. The curators Christiane Wanken (2019-2021) and Bettina Pelz (2022) have invited well-known names as well as young artists. Many works have been newly created for Gelsenkirchen or adapted to the location; some of the works are accessible or allow visitors to become part of the installation in other ways. In addition, traditional illuminated walking acts by Up to Dance will complement the event on three of the five days. At all light art locations, visitors can learn more about the works and their artists from knowledgeable guides - the Cicerones.

The next Goldstücke Gelsenkirchen will take place from October 2 to 6, 2024.
