This man has a flair for high drama, a precise gift for observation, a quirky sense of humor and a tender feeling for people. Gringo Mayer is one of us and yet completely different. His music is pop music in the sense of popular music in the sense of music for everyone, for everyone and everyone. And yet never arbitrary. In the BASF Feierabendhaus, the Ludwigshafen native ignites a furious firework display with his Kurpfalz indie pop and touches us with simple stories that go straight to the heart. A fine line between kitsch and art, which only a few can walk as brilliantly as the man in the gray suit and cowboy boots.
