The Groove City Recordstore is more than "just" a record store. For us it's a social bar, a place to exchange ideas and talk shop or just hang out and dig records. We love the vibe, Marga & Anja and would therefore like to celebrate a GROOVE CITY FEST with you on 06. + 07.02.25, with great live acts and the Groove City DJ Crew (Surprise Surprise). Tickets are available from 04.10. at 10 a.m. as a combination ticket (also at Groove City without VVK fee as a chic hardcover ticket) or for the individual days.

Distance as a measure of time and place informs Kelly Finnigan's "A Lover Was Born" with a toughness and grace that makes a virtue of passion. The Monophonics frontman's latest solo release follows in the best tradition of Midwest soul labels like King, Curtom, Dakar and Bodie Recording Company. "A Lover Was Born" is a testament to the fact that these deep-cut grooves are not limited to nostalgia, but lie at the burning heart of longing and hope.
The songs on "A Lover Was Born" reconfigure the spliced and sampled DNA of hip-hop (extracted from crate diggers like Dilla and RZA) to create something new that emphasizes both the range and depth of soul while underscoring the timelessness of Finnigan's sound.

BOBBY OROZA
After a long break, Bobby Oroza is back in Europe. He returns from America to play selected shows in his native Europe, bringing his latest musical work to the stage, which also includes some classics. He continues to explore ambient landscapes with heavy beats, subtle nuances and bilingual poetry. His latest releases with El Michels Affairs take him deeper into the golden era of the Latin American psych scene, combining it with jazzy harmonies and hip-hop beats from his beloved New York. After collaborations and extensive touring across the pond and in Japan in recent years, Bobby is now focusing on studio work in Los Angeles and on the East Coast. These shows will showcase the creative forces of an inspired artist who travels the world in search of golden moments where sounds and people meet.
