The festival on the Riveufer & Saalepromenade is a reminder of the old Hanseatic times in Halle, the salt and cloth trade and the adventurous voyages of the merchants on land and water. One of the basic ideas of the initiators of the Hanseatic Festival was and is to bring the people of Halle closer to the traditions of the Hanseatic League and the history of their Hanseatic city. Every year, more and more visitors and guests enjoy the history plays, performances and events on and around the Saale in Halle (Saale). Halle residents and their guests are cordially invited to experience sporting competitions and presentations and to enjoy typical local food and drink.
