The DOM is a piece of Hamburg tradition and is a guarantee for fun, games, thrills and nostalgia. The term goes back to a collection of traders, craftsmen and jugglers who - after some friction - were granted the right to stay in St. Mary's Cathedral during "bad weather" in 1337. At the end of the 19th century, the showmen found their "new home" on the Heiligengeistfeld.
