Fairytale opera by Engelbert Humperdinck / Libretto by Adelheid Wette

Hansel and Gretel are bored. They want to play and immerse themselves in their fantasy, in which even their dolls dance along. Chaos ensues - too much for the exhausted, scolding mother. Offended, the children finally flee into their fantasy, a forest growing down from the sky to the earth, where there are no limits. There is even a cookie house. But a mysterious, sinister woman lives there. She catches the children, casts a spell on them - and wants to eat them! But luckily Hansel and Gretel are clever ...

The opera, directed by Marie-Christine Lüling, contains everything a family's heart desires: well-known melodies, enchanting images and a happy ending as it is written in the book.
