Christmas is the time for books. When the nights are long and the days are cold, there is nothing better than traveling through colorful fantasy worlds and immersing yourself in exciting stories. Every year at Christmas time, we unpack a very special book that tells a well-known story with the overwhelming musical language of the turn of the century: the fairytale opera Hansel and Gretel. This season, the motto is: Happy Birthday, Hansel and Gretel! For the 555th performance of this Hanoverian favorite production of all generations, the sixtieth anniversary will be celebrated in style on 1 December 2024.
