Hayat Habibi*s: Welcome to our Mahalle

In the organizer's words:

Mahalle - This is a district, a neighborhood, a Kiez, with a vibrant life on the streets. There are kiosks and late-night eateries, shisha bars and schools. There are also conversations in different languages, solidarity at different levels - and little money. This is where the pulse of the migration society beats. Living here too often costs lives.

That's why Mahalle has long been more than just a hood. It is a subversive force that successfully resists the dominant culture; an oppositional attitude that defies criminalization, discrimination and repression. Where, if not here, does the knowledge for a better future lie?

Together with people from the Mahalle Allerheiligenviertel and allies from inside and outside Frankfurt, Hayat Habibi*s invites you to the Town Hall Talk: a polyphonic conversation about gentrification, displacement and racism.

There will be talking, chatting, listening, whispering, laughing and maybe even crying. There is freshly brewed tea from the samovar, sunflower seeds and nuts for everyone for free.
