The St. Pauli musical

In September 2023, Germany's most successful musical celebrated its 20th birthday. No other German in-house production has been performed for longer - what a success story!

The reactions to the premiere on September 16, 2003 at Schmidts Tivoli were fantastic: the enthusiastic audience applauded standing ovations, the press celebrated the "declaration of love to St. Pauli"(Nordsee-Zeitung) as "charming and sexy, lascivious and honest"(Hamburger Abendblatt), Die Welt raved about an "almost real fairy tale", the Süddeutsche Zeitung about a "crash course in St. Pauli culture" and the MOPO even called it "Hamburg's best musical". Since then, countless sausages have been grilled here and served with a large portion of heart, snout and humor at the most famous snack bar on the Reeperbahn. The production has now delighted 2.8 million guests in over 5100 shows.

Every evening, nine members of the ensemble slip into over 50 roles and take you on a fast-paced show about 24 hours at the neighborhood snack bar "Heiße Ecke". The whole of St. Pauli comes together at Hannelore and her crew's counter: the easy girls and the hard guys, the tourists before a visit to the musical and the dustmen after their shift, the party people from the suburbs who want to have a good time and the Kiez veterans who have long since had enough but still can't get away from the weirdest mile in the Republic.
