HELENE BOCKHORST
"TAKE ME seriously"
Stand-up comedy & tragedy
Whether you are allowed to make jokes about any subject has been hotly debated in recent years. But the much more interesting question is actually, is it okay not to make jokes? How much emotional range can a comedy program tolerate?
Helene Bockhorst tries it out - and dares the balancing act between humor and depth. In her genre-busting one-woman freak show, she presents herself. Come in, clear the ring - take a seat in the most refreshing rollercoaster since emotions began! Only here will you see the strongest woman in the world, the woman with the abdomen and the tightrope act of German comedy. She balances on the fine line between shame and enlightenment. She leaps from the trapeze of good humor and relies on the audience to catch her. And unerringly throws knives into the hearts of the audience.
Don't worry, there will be plenty of laughter and a celebration of life on this evening. But there will also be stories, amazement and compassion. Because in the end, we all want just one thing: to be loved for who we are. In happy moments as well as in melancholy moments. And why should an artist settle for anything less.
