Herbstlaune – Ein Museum zeigt, was in ihm steckt!

The equinox on September 22, 2024 marks the beginning of autumn - and with it the third part of our seasonal series entitled "Autumn Mood". Autumn is a time of change, which also plays a role in the exhibition themes.
Hunting is an old tradition with great significance for society, but it also raises critical questions: Why is hunting practiced? Is it pure pleasure or is it necessary? The grape harvest in the fall is considered a necessity. Find out about the importance of wine over the course of time and why viticulture must also adapt to climatic changes.

The topics of the "Autumn Mood" are discussed in connection with exhibits from the permanent collection in order to take a fresh look at selected elements in the Couven Museum. Visitors can discover these details during their tour, which always offer a link to the present day.

As part of the "Seasons in the Couven Museum" series, the Couven Museum invites you to the lecture "Planetary Borders" by Prof. Dr. Heribert Nacken from RWTH Aachen University on Fri 11.10. at 3 pm. Professor Nacken will talk about the controversial topic of "Planetary Boundaries" and explain the significance of these boundaries for our future survival.
