Under the title "New Paths", the jubilarians Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie and Dmitri Shostakovich are shaping this year's concert programs of Herfurth's Hausmusik with their highly innovative works.
The opening concert will feature Erik Satie's 1st Gymnopédie, which has become a "melodic hit", as well as the
piano cycle "Gaspard de la nuit" by Maurice Ravel.
With "Sicilienne et Burlesque op. 23" by Alfredo Casella, like Maurice Ravel a pupil of Gabriel Fauré, impressionistic timbres for flute and piano can be experienced - and with the Piano Trio in E minor op. 67 by Dmitri Shostakovich, one of the chamber music highlights of the 20th century will conclude the program.
