Hustle Workshop mit Denie Kim Kony

We welcome the one and only Denie Kim Kony to our team!
She starts in February with Hustle and House classes at Heizhaus. As a special treat we welcome you to a hustle workshop with her on 25.01.25!

Kim is a dancer, artist and activist from the Czech Republic. She started hustling in 2011 and contributed to the growth of hustle communities around the world - including Poland, Finland, Vietnam, Japan and more. Her focus is on the foundations and connections in dance, but also on the rich history and heritage of the Hustle.

Hustle is a partner dance that emerged from the Hispanic and Latino communities of the South Bronx. It experienced its greatest growth in the 70s and 80s in the gay clubs of New York. There the dance developed rapidly. They say that if you missed just one week, you wouldn't know how to dance. Hustle quickly became the hot thing of the time. In the late 80's, Lisa Nunziella and Eddie Vega made sure everyone knew that hustle was the best dance of the day by winning dance competitions like the television show Star Search one after another. At the time, hustle was simultaneously evolving on TV screens, in ballrooms, but also in clubs, where the culture persists to this day.
