I don`t know how to love you teach me to love

In the organizer's words:

Group exhibition with works by 6 artists from Hong Kong: Ailsa Wong, Jennifer Poon, Jessie Cheuk Lam Tam, Lau Man Pan , Man Wai Se and Rose Li

Our thematic exhibition program in the first half of 2024 - Friends of Friends of Friends of...-focuses on friendship in the context of resistance and resilience. The exhibition I don`t know how to love you teach me to love is also part of the thematization of diverse strategies of artists to create resilient structures and networks and concludes this exhibition cycle.

In a curatorial collaboration with curator MeMe of Struggling Art Space, Hong Kong, the group exhibition brings together six Hong Kong artists who share their vibrant exploration of the search for love and resilience required to navigate the fragility of relationships. Inspired by the challenges and longings of everyday life, we respond to our current situation that is constantly caught in times of departure and we can only hope for a reunion.
Like flies buzzing at the window and stress often clouding our vision. We collect family archives to find hidden stories about lost loved ones, but also pesky insects and the unexpected. By capturing frustrations and mishaps in daily life, by doing things silly yet serious, we explore mythical elements between our inner selves and the outside world. Amidst the chaos in everyday and ordinary life. Did you know that not all relationships stay sweet like a slice of toast that sits too long in the toaster and often ends up with unexpected mistakes? And did you know that every lie we tell to keep things together is like a tooth that is about to be lost? When you look up at the sky, you're probably thinking of someone.

So no time for love, or is there?
