The multimedia exhibition "I am something you don't see" sheds light on the topic of poverty in our society and shows that it also exists in places where it is hardly suspected - for example among students, single mothers or pensioners.
The exhibition gives a voice to people whose poverty usually remains invisible because it does not correspond to common perceptions.
Conceived by photographer Gianina Morgenstern as part of her final thesis in the photography degree program, the exhibition questions social and political distortions of poverty and its public representation. Prevailing prejudices about people experiencing poverty are to be broken down by creating space for encounters with the realities of their lives.
Poverty is omnipresent and a task for society as a whole - and it is more than what we think we see.
