by and with Selma Kay Matter
At the beginning of the year, Selma Kay Matter will be our guest with the newly published book Muscles of Plastic. The book is about the chronic illnesses of people with trans identities and how society deals with them. Kay is deeply in love and seriously ill. From one heartbreak to the next, from severe palpitations to migraines, from making out to aching limbs. While Kay tries to escape the consequences of Long Covid, only the longing for Aron and the desire for a strong, androgynous body bring relief. Selma Kay Matter (they/them) is the author of the plays Alice Vanishes, Alias Anastasius and Bright Days. Muskeln aus Plastik is Selma's first work of prose.
