Munich is the birthplace of National Socialism. Hitler held his first speeches here, the NSDAP was founded here, and Munich, with its huge party district, was also the administrative center of the criminal Nazi dictatorship until the very end. And even though a large number of Germans blindly followed the Nazis to their downfall, there were women and men in this darkest hour of German history who mustered the courage to actively resist. In Munich, of all places, the site of Adolf Hitler's personal rise, there were a multitude of stories of selfless resistance. They are tragic, but also hopeful stories of people who risked and sacrificed their lives for a better Germany. On this tour I would like to tell their stories.

WHAT I STAND FOR

This tour is a matter of the heart for me. I have been dealing with National Socialism for many years. In doing so, I quickly noticed that mostly only the story of the perpetrators is told. And that is also very important for a functioning culture of remembrance. But it is precisely the people who mustered the inconceivable courage to actively resist during this dark period who are given far too little attention today. Their multifaceted resistance to the National Socialist dictatorship simply has to be reported.

No specific prior knowledge is required for my resistance tour. Even though we are dealing with a serious topic, we give ourselves a pleasant atmosphere. A city tour does not have to be dry and monotonous, but should first and foremost be enjoyable.

Meeting point: At the fountain in front of the main entrance of the LMU (Geschwister-Scholl-Platz). I'm the one with the iPad :)
