Improtheater: Un-Wissen

In this improvised theater evening, Nick Maaß and Tobias Sailer take a look at fiction as such. A scene is acted out and then thoroughly taken apart. What we think we know for sure about a moment is uncovered, questioned and, if necessary, overturned with all the means the theater has to offer. The two put themselves on the dissecting table and question their own convictions. In the end, the question remains: What do you know?

Tobias Sailer and Nick Maaß met in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic via Zoom at the Impro Fest Online (IFO) festival organized by Nick Maaß. They realized that the concept of knowledge is not only highly topical in times of fake news, but also central to improvisation. Tobias Sailer is not only active through his work at the AMS! Theater and many other stages and projects, he also brings an epistemological view of knowledge to the Bremen improv scene as a trained philosopher. Nick Maaß is the director of Impro Bielefeld and one of the protagonists of a young generation of improvisers from Germany who are causing a stir internationally with new impulses. He is not only interested in history, but also in criminology, which makes him an expert on the manipulation of information.
